Entry List for the Empire State 450 Revealed

48 cars have been entered into the Empire State 450, matching the amount of entrants from last year. Entries were expected to be up from last year, but less one-offs have been entered, with more teams opting to do a full-time calendar for 2018.

On top of that, 15 cars will be entered into the Rookie Shootout, with 30 cars in the Open, setting up a 24 car All-Star race; which will be a good indicator of how the duels will go, considering they are set to be 24 cars a piece as well.

Despite only matching the entrants from last year, Dean Thompson, Director of STARS LIS Competition, has stated the amount of entrants to be a success.

"48 cars is still a brilliant achievement, and it's great that we will be sending less cars home with the adaptation of 42 car fields starting this year. The qualifying system will be the same, with the duel races deciding who goes home, but I remain optimistic about this year."
